S. Truett Cathy was an American entrepreneur and the founder of the fast food restaurant chain Chick-fil-A. He was born on March 14, 1921, in Eatonton, Georgia. Cathy started the first Chick-fil-A restaurant in Hapeville, Georgia, in 1967. The restaurant became known for its signature chicken sandwich and focus on customer service. Throughout his career, Cathy received numerous awards and recognition for his contributions to the fast food industry. He passed away on September 8, 2014, at the age of 93.
